The dissolution of prize competition TM tactics # 14

"not possible"

In any case the order of movement is Yellow, Grey, Orange, Green, Purple. If Grey determines 3 or 4 Yellow has to change one lane to the left, because then its move is 2 squares instead of 1 (Rule: Horses have to move the maximum number of squares).

If 3 is determined and Grey moves straight ahead, the other horses are forced to keep their lane too. In this case four horses have got handicap 9 (maximum 8), Green is fifth without handicap. If Grey changes one lane to the left all the other horses except Purple can do the same. In this case Purple and Yellow are both in the lead, Grey is third, Orange forth and Green fifth.

If 4 is determined Grey is forced to change one lane to the left (Rule: Horses have to move the maximum number of squares). For the same reason Orange and Green are forced to do the same. At the end of the round of dice all the horses have got handicap 9 (maximum 8) right in front of the fence.

If 7 is determined Grey is forced to move straight ahead to go the maximum number of squares and jump over the fence. If Yellow changes lane with the first move to the left, Green will not be able to jump over the fence. If Yellow changes lane with the first move to the left and after the sixth move back to the inner lane, Purple cannot jump over the fence. However, Grey remains second in any case.
