There are 5 Possibilities for White to move this roll.

Photo of the question

1st The shortest way leads trough the inner lane twice. For the following cars the track is blocked, then. Red can go 9 squares at maximum. At his next roll White has to watch a speed limit of 3.

2nd At first White takes the inner lane, and then changes to the outer lane. For the following cars the track is blocked, then. Red can go 8 squares at maximum. At his next roll White has no speed limit to watch, and so can move 6 squares at maximum.

3rd At first White takes the outer lane, and then changes to the inner lane. The track is not blocked for the following cars, then. Red has no speed limit. So White must dread to be passed by Red.

4th At first White takes the outer lane, then changes to the inner land, and eventually moves 3 additional squares using the slipstream. At his next roll White has to watch a speed limit of 5. Although the track is then blocked for the following cars, Red can go at last 11 squares at maximum.

5th The longest way leads through the outer lane twice. The track is not blocked for the following cars, then. Red can pass White by rolling a 7 at minimum.
