The dissolution of prize competition MC tactics # 5

"If yellow rolls a 3 silver does not return to the track."

Yellow is able to go 2 squares in maximum. The track is blocked by Orange and Blue, the pitlane is blocked by Green. If Yellow rolls a 3 he exceeds the possible speed by one point. Normally this leads to temporarily out. In spite of this Yellow would pass Silver and makes him return to the track.

However, a temporarily out always takes place just beside the lane of the last possible square. Here you find right beside the square the entrance for the pitlane. This "half" square is only determined for passing through. It is not allowed to put a car on it. So if Yellow rolls a 3 there is no possibility for him to be only temporarily out. Yellow is totally out of the race. This always happens at the square where the car is situated before the roll. Therefore Yellow does not pass Silver.

With a roll of 2 Silver would of course return to the track. But also a 1 would be sufficient. A car has passed, if the front line of the square is behind and after the roll is in front of the square where Silver spun out.
